Sketch #30 Elf/Gnome Scene

This is the Elf/Gnome drawing I did for my son last week. He wants an even more involved scene, so I may have to get out the drawing board and a bigger piece of paper.

This drawing is so much fun! Love it! Your son wants something even more involved than this! I love the little creature... it looks like it is talking to the Gnome... maybe warning him not to drink too much? :)

Thanks, Deb!

Your comment about the drink made me laugh! The little guy is so intense in talking to the gnome and the gnome is sort of shifting his eyes while trying not to spill. A distinct possibility :D Then again maybe the little guy wants a sip :O Or ...

The caterpillar guy's color came out exactly as I wanted it too, unusual for me with colored pencils, pastels are so much better :)

So, maybe, I'll do a bigger one for my son with pastels, ack! Commitment... sketches are so non-committal.

This is getting really serious! Bigger paper, pastels? But then again it might be really rewarding to get into. And the drinking thing really could go either way. ;)

I've done large pastel paintings before. Above my desk is the dragon that the tenant broke the glass of and needs to be repaired, then re-framed. He moved it and didn't hang it right, so it fell. No remorse (the tenant has no clue and is forgiven), my heart bleeds. Hence, I want to fix him (the Dragon) before starting new pastel - or any... so sad...
