ATC 4 More Recent ...

These were all done since I've been back. I used Coptic pens and Micron pens. The paper is Fabriano Drawing Paper, 224 gsm (I cut my cards from the larger sheets, A3 or A4 usually). The last card Kate B. cut for me from some of the Penguin Clubs drawing paper (I ran out of the cards I had brought and she was really sweet and cut some new ones for me). It is quits a bit thinner and whiter. The pens take to it differently due to its composition and lack of texture.

Have a great day!

ATC 4 from vacation

These four ATC cards I drew on vacation. The first one I'm not ready to give away :) The second one has a leaf shape I don't like. The third one is the alternate from Pirate Day. The fourth one for some reason I didn't give away, I'm not really sure why except perhaps the giftee that it is meant for wasn't there.

More on the Pirate Day alternate (see post Sunday, April 13, 2014 for the card): The hat on this one was the my original, however the boys didn't think it looked enough like a pirate hat. I suppose that because I was thinking of Peter Pan while I was drawing it, the hat came out as Peter Pans rather than Captain Hooks, oops. So I was requested to draw a different one. I kept this hat for a few days then finished it up. I like it better... It's a bit cockier ;)

ATC Pairs

These are 2 pairs of ATCs. The pen and ink ones were done before vacation and the other 2 were done during vacation. I wanted to explore the different possibilities of the designs and pens.

Easter Eggs - 2014

For Easter this year we had a guest for the weekend. It turned out she had never dyed eggs or blown and colored them. My kids didn't remember ever blowing eggs and coloring them, so guess what we did...
Everyones Eggs
The kids, after blowing their own eggs, colored on them with sharpies. They did a great job and created some beautiful eggs. I took pictures of the ones I did, see below.

My Egg Backs

They also dipped hardboiled eggs in food dye and vinegar. Those eggs came out pretty too. The sharpie ones were a bigger hit. I am a bit surprised at how shiny the eggs turned out. We didn't shellac or seal them. Maybe Sharpieing eggs will become a tradition...

Have a great Day!

ATCs 5 done before vacation

These 5 ATC's I did before we left on vacation. For whatever reason, I didn't end up giving these out. They were 'in my back pocket' in case I needed to give one out and hadn't made a new one.

I didn't give this one out because I don't like the way the bird came out.

ATCs last two from Vacation

These are the last two ATCs from our vacation. The top one I gave to one of the Penguin Club helpers and the bottom one I gave to one of the servers at the seaside seafood restaurant.

I hope you have enjoyed these cards,

ATCs 7th set of 5

This is the last group of 5 of the ATCs that I gave away to the staff at the Le Meridien at Al Aqa Fujairah, UAE. Tomorrow I'll post the last two cards I gave away at the Le Meridien. I gave away many more somewhere around 70 total ATCs, but I don't have records of the rest of the cards.

The last two were shaded with Copic pens and my old reliables Sakura Pigma Micron. On some of the last cards, I used unipin fineline by Mitsubishi Pencil Co., LTD. They were about 1/8 the price of the Copic pens (at Kinokuniya a faboulous bookstore in the Dubai Mall) and I thought I would try them out. They work fine for what I've been doing.

Have a great day,

ATCs 5th set of 5

Here is the next set of 5 ATCs. On the Italian Night card lasagna is spelled with two ss because that is how the dining room spelled it.

Have a wonderful day after Easter,

ATCs 4th set of 5

Here are the next set of 5 ATCs:

 Italian Night!

As much as I adore color, I didn't do much with it on vacation. For some reason I am going through a semi-black-and-white period. The above is one of the few color ATCs I did for the crew.

Have an excellent day,

Happy Easter! ATC

ATCs 3rd set of 5

Off the top of my head I can't remember any specifics of this group except that all but the middle one I drew at home before our trip. This is a fun size for me to work with; they are so easy to carry around. I made another one today at the doctor's office :)

The design on this one is done in pen and ink rather than with a Sakura Pigma Micron.

The background scrap paper is from Michaels Recollections Tattered and Worn Cardstock 12x12 paper pad. Design is done in pen and ink.

Have a marvelous day,
