Sketch #13 Fall Leaf

I'm not sure how much I like the way I colored this one; I think I was in a funk. Oh well, I have another leaf to color and I can always draw this one again or colorize it in Photoshop, if its worth the trouble.

On another issue, I took one of those thin plastic cutting pads that come three to a pack at Wal-Mart and cut it to 5"x8" and it works excellently between the pages of my sketchbook. It is thinner than the Sizzix pad I was using and is a better size. I am quite happy with this solution.

I think it looks great! Maybe you just need to get away from it for a little while. Sometimes I look at stuff too long and it becomes a "fight"... this happens to me with day job work on occasion... I work and work it, and then I finally call it done, am not completely happy with it, send it off and they love it... sometimes I just look to long. :)

Thanks, Deb! Especially for being so uplifting :)

It may also be a reflection of my health, which seems to go up and down. The blemished leaf may be a symbol... The subconscious is an amazing thing and largely drives my art.

I know the feeling... But doing art makes me happy, it takes my mind off just about everything while I am doing it, it's great therapy. :)
