This guy, I finally finished. I've been busy with the kids and I ate some things I shouldn't have. I had a taste of everything we cooked for Thanksgiving and have been paying for it since. My joints hurt and I'm draggy still - it's been a week and it may take 2 more to get the stuff out of my system. Definitely add in foods one at a time, I have no idea which of the myriad of foods I ate was the problem. I suspect several of them, which is not helpful either. Oh, well. The problem with my sketch book is that I haven't figured out how to color laying down or when my eyes keep insisting on shutting. It may be a while before I am able to post like I was :(
Have a great day!

So sorry to learn you've been suffering. Sure hope you figure out which thing(s) to avoid in the future. Meanwhile this is a delightful new leaf dragon. Is the red in the ears a bit brighter? Maybe for the holidays or to cheer you up.
Thanks, Jean!
The red might be. It's the same pencil, but the pressure I use varies and with this guy I pressed hard :) They are definitely a stress reliever :D
I just have to go back to my very limited diet and add one thing at time :) (NO splurging!) Then I'll be much better. Last week I could go down the stairs almost normally - especially later in the day :) Right now, it's one step at a time :( But, I've got arms and legs and they work, more or less, so it could be so way worse!
I'm sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well. That's no fun! I agree with Jean, and hope you figure out what foods to avoid. I think your dragon turned out great! Hope you get to feeling better soon and you can get back to doing that things you love to do, like your sketchbook. :)
Thanks, Deb!
I do wish I could figure out a way to color while laying down - I suppose I will at some point and think "Why haven't I been doing this all along?"
Right now I'm pretty much avoiding everything not in the Atkins first stage part of the diet, i.e. grains, starches, and most fruits. I have an allergy to many grains, the nightshade family of vegetables, and some fruits. It's a pain, but having lived as long as I have, I'm pretty used to it. Sometimes though, I eat what I feel like, hang the consequences, then pay for my idiocy, silly me. My Dh referred me to the Atkins diet after I cut all grains (I had already cut the nightshade family, they cause me joint pain) out of my diet.
Love this leafy lizard trying to look fierce but actually looking very cute!
Hope you´ll feel better soon. I don´t know exactly what ails you but I find that a couple of vit. E capsules a day ease aching joints no matter what the cause is.
Thanks, Helen!
I should be getting back to these guys soon. I was able to go down the stairs this morning without thinking I was going to take a header :) I've taken E, C, multi's, and Glucosamine Chondroitin and the only thing that really works is staying away from tomatoes (big problem), potatoes, eggplant (easy to avoid), and some peppers. Here's a link about nightshade foods that explains why this can happen http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=george&dbid=62 My body reacts unfavorably to many things, but everyone has problems as they age and mine could be way worse. At least I have a fairly simple solution to mine and no surgery needed :D
