This sketch is of the Leaf Dragon's Prey. I brushed Delta Ceramcoat Sparkle Glaze from a bottle about 6 years old (I keep everything forever) over the flying prey and on the belly of the caterpillar. It shows up more as spots than sparkles online. The paper, being cheap sketch paper, crinkled a bit on the large expanse of the butterfly wings. It should flatten out after a while since it is in my sketchbook. My main concern is that the Glaze will stick to the opposing page and I may need to put some wax paper between the pages.

These creatures are SO delightful! My favorite might be the blue, long one, but they are wonderful as a group. Wish we could see the sparkles better, but like the idea of it.
Thanks, Jean!
They are fun to draw too. I thought about adding sparkles digitally, but decided not to. Taking a photograph with the flash might show them better than the scanner did. Somebody else might know the best way to show sparkles and such off.
These little guys are just too cute! I hope they are quick enough to avoid the dragons! Glitter is really hard to capture, because it is the interaction of light moving that makes them so special. The only way I have found to show the true "look" is to take a little movie with my camera.
Thanks, Deb!
They flit pretty fast ;)
Thanks for the glitter info.
