Thank you card

Made a dozen of the same design Thank you cards yesterday. My daughter is graduating this year and needs to give some Thank you's out. Her favorite color is orange, so I used mostly orange with red.

ATCs Leaf Dragon World and Bird

The first three of these ATCs are from my Leaf Dragon World and the fourth is inspired by a stamp from Inkadinkado and Dover Silhouettes. All four are done in pen and colored with Prismacolor pencils.

Flower Doodle 5.75x8.25

This flower I did maybe 4 or 5 weeks ago in pen and copic brush pens for the shading and filling. You can see the pencil marks for the matting, which I ended up ignoring. The pen lines flow better in a design like this if they extend over the edge, but when I started this doodle I had no idea where it would go so I put the lines in and they broke through.

I did this doodle a month or so ago after I had some henna done on my hands.  Drawn with pen and ink, it is approximately 5x7 on Fabriano 224 gsm drawing paper.

ATC Flowers and Change

Well, the middle two deviate slightly from the flower only motifs I've been doing - the flowers are still there, just not the main attraction. I used a variety of pens for the lines and copic pens to shade and fill.

I used a variety of pens and the copic black for filling in large areas. It is interesting in this sequence of four cards I didn't use any copic pens for shading.

ATC More Flowers

Like yesterdays flower ATCs, these are done with a mixture of pen types and copic pens for shading and filling in.

I'm hoping the allergies/cold I picked up last week will finish up soon. I don't want to take any medication for a while since I was sick last week and my whole rhythm is messed up. I have been drinking lots of various kinds of tea. The camomile makes me sneeze, so I suppose I should lay off that one. Anyway, due to feeling under the weather, I have been making more ATC's than usual. They are such a nice manageable size.

ATC Flowers

These ATCs are all done with a mix of zig, snowman, and micron pens for the lines and copic pens for the filling in and shading. I am still in my flower phase, but toward the end of the week I will be posting some new ATC's that deviate from the pattern.

Last week I finished another leaf dragon about A4 size and if I get around to it, I may post that. I have also done some larger black and white doodles which I need to photograph, then post.

Hopefully this week will be better than last week. Tuesday I ate some flatbread made from wheat (really stupid of me!) and was very ill that night. The next night we had incredible winds that took out the power for 5-6 hours, reduced the fresh water to a trickle, and downed 120+ trees onto houses, cars, and the street. All-in-all last week was a tough one, but we picked up both my son's and my new glasses :)

ATC 4 more ...

Here are 4 more ATCs. The first two are done on Kate's paper (see previous post) and the other two on Fabriano Drawing Paper. They are done with Micro and Copic Pens. As you can see I'm still experimenting with the Copic shader pens. Sometimes I like the look and other times I'm not impressed. The brush tips are pretty good and seem to be holding up ok.

ATC 4 More Recent ...

These were all done since I've been back. I used Coptic pens and Micron pens. The paper is Fabriano Drawing Paper, 224 gsm (I cut my cards from the larger sheets, A3 or A4 usually). The last card Kate B. cut for me from some of the Penguin Clubs drawing paper (I ran out of the cards I had brought and she was really sweet and cut some new ones for me). It is quits a bit thinner and whiter. The pens take to it differently due to its composition and lack of texture.
